Los Angeles often gets a bad rep, especially by outsiders. We are known as superficial, dishonest, fast-paced and self-important nobodies who would not know culture if it hit us in the face. Most of these nay-sayers have never ventured past Hollywood Boulevard where the ratio of plastic bodies to intelligent people is 25 to 1. Now, this is not to say we don’t have our share of problems, but no more than any other metropolitan area. This guide is being given to steer you away from the doorsteps of the plastic surgery offices and into the always entertaining and sometimes seedy underbelly of Los Angeles.

“You know how many foods are shaped like d*cks? The best kinds.” Yes, Jonah Hill, you are correct. The best foods are quite phallic in nature. Now I cannot venture to guess why. Maybe nature just has a great sense of humor? Perhaps the best types of foods are shaped like that special male body part because historically, the penis has been considered a symbol of power.

I am sure the psychology behind food shape is not a science that has been readily tapped into, but today we will be looking at the most phallic foods—diving head first into why they are so tasty and how to get over the initial giggle when you are about to shove a massive hot dog down your grinder.
